Join your local Missouri Waterkeeper and partners Big Muddy Adventures for their world famous Full Moon Float! Spend a magical evening paddling on either the Missouri River or Mississippi River in St. Louis, Missouri and enjoy fine dining in a unique and unparalleled natural setting. At our early evening meetup, you will be outfitted with everything you need before boarding one of BMA's extraordinary 29 foot voyageur canoes. No paddling experience or special equipment is necessary, we've got you covered! After paddling with a Big Muddy Adventures guide we'll arrive at a beautiful and uninhabited river island just in time for sunset and the “magic hour”. You will have time to explore the sandy beach, take a swim, search for arrowheads, spot eagles, or simply sit back and crack a cold one with your Waterkeeper while a “campfire gourmet” dinner is being prepared for you. After dining around the campfire, you can enjoy sharing stories with your new river friends, stargazing and soaking up the light of the full moon. You'll probably even catch a glimpse of the St. Louis Gateway Arch National Monument from the rare perspective of the river. This Big Muddy Adventures signature trip is truly a night to remember! Next enjoy a place that is like nowhere else in this galaxy, St. Louis’ City Museum. While it might not be a hidden gem, it is downright remarkable to visit. It’s an art museum, made up of components one might find in a history museum, all laid out as a surrealistic adult-friendly playground. One minute you could be inside a gorgeous sculpture of a giant whale; the next you're crawling through a cave. You might start off in a treehouse, hop down a slide, and wind up in a massive, adult-sized ball pit. Or you can be admiring a room full of priceless opera posters and accidentally wander into an aquarium.
